In addition to being one of the most amazing individuals on the planet, my Mom is also an author. She has written 1000 page books about Vikings, a book about monkey wrenching, short stories about her botanical observations, and many other things. Her latest writings are a series of mystery novels.
When she asked me to do the book covers, I was excited to see what I could develop and didn't realize how impossible it was going to be to not tweak and tweak every little thing and have the project run on forever. You see, I can't do this with my drawings. They don't rewind the way digital work allows and this is something I love about working in ink and colored pencil. However, I really enjoyed this process of editing and building up and editing again. Here is the cover for one of the three books she has completed thus far in the Rodney-Winslow Mysteries series.
